Annette T. Smurr
Since 1988, when she was admitted to the California State Bar, Annette T. Smurr has been representing clients at every stage of their criminal proceedings, including arraignments, preliminary hearings, recalling bench warrants, various motions, trial confirmations, and court and jury trials. She has successfully conducted cross-examination of prosecution witnesses and persuasively made closing arguments in the process of defending her clients. She has successfully argued for and won honor release and bail reductions and referred hundreds of clients to alternative sentencing programs for alcohol, drug, and mental rehabilitation. She represents defendants in Federal Court, State Court, Juvenile Court, and Dependency Court. She has successfully won jury trials, especially in DUI cases. Please see my Recent Wins. Her spouse of 26 years was retired attorney John B. Smurr. She has made her home here in Fresno since graduating from U.C. Berkeley in 1984 and obtaining her Juris Doctorate from Golden Gate Law School in 1987. Annette T. Smurr was first admitted to the Nevada State Bar in 1987 and has since retired from it.

Gia Salas
Gia Salas began working with Mrs. Smurr in May of 2013 as her paralegal. She now has 35 years experience working with various attorneys in civil and family law, as well as criminal defense. She is a Spanish interpreter and has worked closely with various private investigators with forensic knowledge.
